Dr. Yaritza E Serrano-Laureano (Dr. Serrano), grew up in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, and knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a Veterinarian. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus, before moving to Louisiana for veterinary school. She graduated from Louisian State University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. After graduating, she moved to Florida and started working in small animal practice, focusing on pet wellness and preventive care.

When not at work, Dr. Serrano loves spending time with her husband and son, and their 3 dogs.  She also enjoys running, skating and salsa dancing.

Dr. Cariño is originally from the Philippines where she earned her DVM degree from the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 1998. She started as a large-scale swine farm veterinarian until she moved to the US in 2004, where she gathered diverse experience from working at mixed-animal hospitals, HQHV spay & neuter clinics, as well as animal shelter hospitals. Dr. Cariño is most passionate about providing her patients with the latest gold standard of care in veterinary medicine including soft-tissue surgery, immunotherapy, and regenerative medicine. Outside of work, she loves to paint on silk, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and Dagul, their 7-year-old English Mastiff.

After graduating with a Biology degree from the University of West Florida Nicole decided to follow her passion to seek a career with animals. Earning an internship with the Gulf Breeze Zoo allowed her the opportunity to work with many different species of animals and gave her an entrance in to veterinary medicine. She began her career as a veterinary assistant at a private practice in New Orleans, eventually making the move to Orlando. She progressed through different fields of medicine as a veterinary assistant, practice manager and now senior regional veterinary manager. Nicole prides herself on ensuring every pet feels at home when in the hospital and focuses on helping owners understand what their pet is trying to tell them about their health.

In her free time she enjoy spending time with her two dogs, cats and family. Her hobbies include going anywhere dogs are allowed, hiking and enjoying time outdoors. Being someone who enjoys to travel, Nicole understands the importance of ensuring her pets are taken care of well while she is away.
