Supporting the Community
Since opening our first location in 2002, Pet Paradise is now located in 11 states and has grown to over 60 locations open nationwide and expanding across the United States. In that time, we’ve supported local charities by donating nearly $700,000 and 475,000 pounds of pet food to over 100 dog and cat charity organizations. From an annual pet food drive to supporting community events, we are proud to be so much more than a pet boarding company.
Homes for the Holidays
Pet Paradise is partnering with Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR) to make the 2023 holiday season brighter by helping find forever homes for dogs in needs. To ensure a smooth transition for the new furry family member, Pet Paradise is providing four FUR dogs with a complimentary 21-day board-and-train dog experience prior to their adoption. Additionally, NewDay Veterinary Care is offering a free wellness plan for a full year, guaranteeing a healthy and happy start in their new lives. Help us find these special canines their forever homes.
Supporting Pet Therapy at Nemours Children's Health
Sharing a combined commitment to Innovation, Passion and Community, Pet Paradise and Nemours Children's Health are joining forces to further the hospital's Pet Therapy Programs. With our support, volunteer dogs and handlers will continue to visit children who seek treatment at Nemours from across the country. These animals bring light and lightness into these halls and we are so proud to help bring the healing power of pets to children with life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
Barkin' Biscuits Program
Pet Paradise has partnered with the North Florida School of Special Education. Their Barkin' Biscuits program focuses on vocational training for Transition and Post-graduate students with disabilities. Students who participate in the program learn to follow recipes, mix ingredients, roll and cut the dough, bake and package the biscuits. Their dog treats are all natural, incorporating fresh ingredients from their school's farm, Berry Good Farms. Ingredients from the farm include wheatgrass, garlic, parsley, mint and rosemary.
Wacky Camp Days
Pet Paradise embraces the wacky themes of Wacky Camp Days twice a year! Wacky Camp Days is a special day camp and bath promotion to benefit local animal welfare groups. $1 for every bath on Tuesdays and Thursdays will go to help support the Pet Therapy Program at Nemours Children's Health, while each resort location chooses a charity to receive $1 from each bath on Wednesdays. Since the program began in 2009, Pet Paradise has donated over $375,000 to more than 100 organizations nationally. For more information about this promotion, please contact your local resort.
Food for Paws Pet Food Drive
Past holiday seasons, Pet Paradise has teamed up with many local pet food banks and rescue groups to collect pet food for its Annual Food for Paws Pet Food Drive through 2022. Each year, our food drive gets bigger and better! Pet Paradise has collected and distributed over 475,000 pounds of pet food in the past 12 years. This pet food not only directly helps rescue groups in need, but has also provided pet food directly to struggling pet owners allowing them to keep their pets. Community members are encouraged to support this great cause by donating a 20 lb. bag of pet food to their local resort location.
Pet Rescue Groups
Pet Paradise Resort has made a positive impact in numerous communities throughout the United States. Each year, Pet Paradise partners with local pet rescue groups to offer boarding and day camp services to help reduce overcrowding in the shelters. Pet Paradise supports the Jacksonville Humane Society's Safety Net Program to offer temporary boarding to help pet owners who are in need. Since 2013, Pet Paradise has helped save over 400 JHS dogs and cats by providing over 10,000 nights of temporary boarding. We also sponsor rescue and pet related events throughout the community, including Jacksonville's First Coast No More Homeless Pets' MEGA Pet Adoption Event, which is one of the largest adoption events in the country four times a year. Over 1,000 homeless pets from more than a dozen rescues and shelters across Northeast Florida are available for same day adoption.
Pet Paradise donated $50,000 to K9s for Warriors to help support their efforts and build a new training facility in Jacksonville, FL. K9s For Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to our Warriors suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post-9/11. They provide them with a service canine, equipment, training, certification, seminars, legal instruction, vet care, housing, home cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and life-time of wrap-around services (including available life-long healthcare and food for their dogs). Their goal is to empower them to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.
