Supporting Local Animal Charities
Since opening our first location in 2002, Pet Paradise has grown to 35 locations across the southern and western U.S. In that time, we’ve supported local animal charities by donating $350,000 and 290,000 pounds of pet food to over 100 dog and cat charity organizations. From an annual pet food drive to supporting animal rescue events, we are proud to be so much more than a pet boarding company.
Life is Short, Make a Splash
Pet Paradise makes a splash for local nonprofits throughout the United States with its annual Life is Short, Make a Splash summer campaign. To kick off the giving back campaign, a Splash Bash contest is held at each resort's swimming pool to see which dogs can make the biggest splash. Pet Paradise customers are able to nominate a 501(c)3 nonprofit for a chance to win a $10,000 donation through a Facebook contest. Everyone is then encouraged to vote for their favorite charity! Local communities have also supported the cause by purchasing Pet Paradise promotional items with proceeds going towards the final donations. To learn more, please visit www.timetomakeasplash.com.
Pet Paradise embraces the wacky themes of Wacky Wednesday twice a year! Wacky Wednesday is a special day camp and bath promotion to benefit local animal welfare groups. Each resort location chooses a charity to receive one dollar from each bath. Since the program began in 2009, Pet Paradise has donated over $175,000 to more than 100 organizations nationally. For more information about this promotion, please contact your local resort or visit the Pet Paradise blog.
Annual Food for Paws Pet Food Drive
Every holiday season, Pet Paradise teams up with many local pet food banks and rescue groups to collect pet food for its Annual Food for Paws Pet Food Drive. Each year, our food drive gets bigger and better! Pet Paradise has collected and distributed over 290,000 pounds of pet food in the past eight years. This pet food not only directly helps rescue groups in need, but has also provided pet food directly to struggling pet owners allowing them to keep their pets. Community members are encouraged to support this great cause by donating a 20 lb. bag of pet food to their local resort location.
Animal Rescue Groups
Pet Paradise Resort has made a positive impact in numerous communities throughout the United States. Each year, Pet Paradise partners with local animal rescue groups to offer boarding and day camp services to help reduce overcrowding in the animal shelters. Pet Paradise supports the Jacksonville Humane Society's Safety Net Program to offer temporary boarding to help pet owners who are in need. Since 2013, Pet Paradise has helped save over 400 JHS dogs and cats by providing over 10,000 nights of temporary boarding. We also sponsor animal rescue and pet related events throughout the community, including Jacksonville's First Coast No More Homeless Pets' MEGA Pet Adoption Event, which is one of the largest adoption events in the country four times a year. Over 1,000 homeless pets from more than a dozen rescues and shelters across Northeast Florida are available for same day adoption.
Pet Paradise donated $50,000 to K9s for Warriors to help support their efforts and build a new training facility in Jacksonville, FL. K9s For Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to our Warriors suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post-9/11. They provide them with a service canine, equipment, training, certification, seminars, legal instruction, vet care, housing, home cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and life-time of wrap-around services (including available life-long healthcare and food for their dogs). Their goal is to empower them to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.
Barkin' Biscuits Program
Pet Paradise has partnered with the North Florida School of Special Education. Their Barkin' Biscuits program focuses on vocational training for Transition and Post-graduate students with disabilities. Students who participate in the program learn to follow recipes, mix ingredients, roll and cut the dough, bake and package the biscuits. Their dog treats are all natural, incorporating fresh ingredients from their school's farm, Berry Good Farms. Ingredients from the farm include wheatgrass, garlic, parsley, mint and rosemary.
